LG Optimus one P500 vs Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800

LG and Samsung, two greatest competitors in the mobile industry launched two new phones in the year 2010 with almost the same specifications and features. The models, LG Optimus One P500 and Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800 are both full touch-screen models with Android supported operating system. With great looks and a good resolution TFT Capacitive touch screen, both the phones have excellent sensitivity and performance and have already gained a lot of support from its users around the world.
When compared, these two phones seem to be alter-ego of each other with very few differences. Both LG Optimus and Samsung Galaxy are Android supported phones with Optimus having v2.2 (Froyo) operating system upgradable to v2.3 (Gingerbread) and Galaxy having v2.1 (Eclair) operating system upgradable to v2.2 (Froyo). LG Optimus have a processor of 600 MHz with an internal memory of 170 MB extendable upto 32 GB.
Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800
On the contrary Galaxy 3 has a processor of 667 MHz with an internal memory of 512 MB extendable upto 32 GB. Another difference between the phones lie in their dimension with Galaxy 3 having a dimension of 113.5 x 55 x 12.9 mm with a weight of 109 gm and Optimus P500 has a dimension of 113.5 x 59 x 13.3 mm with a weight of 129 gm.

In all other features they both resemble each other a lot. Starting off with the network supported, both phones support GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 for 2G network and HSDPA 900 / 2100 for 3G network. They have a TFT capacitive touch-screen with features like touch Wiz 3.0, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off and Multi-touch input method. They even support a 3.12 MP camera with features like Geo-tagging, face and smile detection and VGA video capturing with no secondary camera. Both the phones also have GPRS class 10, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, USB v2.0, GPS with A-GPS support and JAVA for extended mode of connectivity. The Bluetooth provided in Galaxy 3 is of a higher v3.0 but in Optimus P500 it is of v2.1 both supported by A2DP.
With so many similarities in the two phones it becomes extremely difficult to choose any one from them. With price of both the phones also in the same range, LG scores a bit more from its rival Samsung as it has a higher version Android support. It seems that Samsung still tries to use the older version of OS in its phone with its rivals moving ahead. Otherwise both the phones have quite satisfying properties within affordable price range. Thus it is obvious that they will set up a lot of challenge for each other to have a smooth sale.
